About Applebee's
Applebee is an American full-service restaurant brand popularly known for its signature Riblets. Applebee was conceptualized in 1980 by Bill and TJ Palmer in Atlanta, Georgia. At first, the restaurant was named T.J. Applebee's RX for Edibles and Elixirs. After the concept was acquired by W.R. Grace and Company, the restaurant was renamed as Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar. Later the company and the Applebee's concept changed hands with Abe Gustin and John Hamra who started the first Applebee's franchise restaurant in Kansas City.
Later in 2007, IHOP Corp. now known as DineEquity, Inc. acquired Applebee's and began their journey together to make Applebee's the world's largest full-service restaurant chain. Today, Applebee's serves at more than 1,830 locations worldwide. The Applebee's menu ranges from Appetizers and Salads to heavy meals consisting of ribs and steak. You know that feeling of excruciating hunger pains where you decide to go to the first restaurant you see and everything tastes amazing due to the fact that you will eat anything? Well, if I see this Applebee's again and I am dying of hungry, I'll be willing to go elsewhere. I showed up here with 7 other friends. We had just finished working out and wanted to get some food before a looooong drive back to Atlanta. We were seating within 5 minutes. The waiter was nice and made sure we all got waters. Everything was going well until we ordered our food. The food came out in 3 or 4 waves instead of all together. By the time the last person got their food, half of us were already done with our meal. We tried to wait for everyone's food, but we were all starving. I ordered the steak, which was deceivingly small and was a little rubbery. Applebees, don't try to get all fancy by trying to serve tiny portions. My other friend ordered the same thing. Then 10 minutes later, they bring out one serving of spinach and tomatoes because they forgot to add that to our dish. Then another 5 minutes and the other serving came out. That happened yet again to another friend who ordered chicken. They forgot to pour the sauce over it. I just don't understand how they can keep forgetting certain garnishes and parts of the meal, especially when we're already halfway done eating. It was hard to get a hold of our waiter, even though it wasn't crazy busy. My friend ordered dessert with ice cream, and we just saw it sitting at the bar counter for 5 minutes. We actually decided to get up and grab it cuz the ice cream was starting to melt, but the waiter saw my friend heading to the counter and grabbed it for him. At the end of the meal, we split our bills and paid. As I was heading to the bathroom, the waiter just handed me back my receipt and money, so I had to walk back to my table to put the bill down then head to the bathroom. I know I was right there, but I find that a little unprofessional. Everyone else needed their bill too, so if you don't mind, let me use the bathroom instead of giving me the bill on the spot and having to walk back to empty my hands. The bathroom is pretty gross as well. The floor was all nasty. uuuugh... Overall, the servers were very nice, but service needs to be better. Also, not sure if their cooks are new, but they need to learn to prepare all the dishes so they come out at the same time and make sure they actually prepare the dishes the way they're suppose to be.

All of the staff here were very friendly! It's always nice to see smiling faces after being on the road all day while traveling :)

Ok food... Ok service... We called in an order to go (thinking it would be nice since they have To go parking where they bring your food out to you and we were already showered for the night and didn't feel like seeing anyone or getting dirty.) and they tell us they won't be able to bring it to our car since it was dark out- seriously? in Lake City you can't bring food to a car after dark?! Anyway, we get there and I go into get it, and have walk pass a person smoking and getting clouds of smoke in my hair. I get the food, the lady reassures me everything is in the bag. We leave, I set the bag on my lap, pick it up and there is sticky/gummy stuff all over my pants from the bag. To top it off there is no sauce at all for the chicken fingers, and missing a side. I thought the carpet in the restaurant seemed very gross/outdated too.

DESERVES ZERO (0) starts. Unfortunately you have to chose one to make a review. DECIDED to try Applebees in Lake City, FL for a second time. First time was terrible, thought we'd give it another chance. BIG MISTAKE.. Bartender was swamped at 3:00 on a Saturday afternoon with 2 other couples at the bar and us. He was in charge of all the table bar service, the 6 patrons (including us) and all takeouts. I can't imagine a huge take out at 3:00 p.m. on a Saturday afternoon. Wanted a Rasberry or Cherry Vodka Cosmopolitan. The only flavor vodka was vanilla or whipped. Asked for a splash of their sour mix to see how tart it was so I could order a top-shelf margarita. In the meantime, I ordered my husbands extra dirty TITO's Vodka Martini. As he (the bartender, who spoke so softly I could hardly hear) was making the martini, he poured the tito's in the mixer tin and left it sitting while pouring two draft beers. When I questioned him on the drink and vodka in the mixer, he completely misunderstood me and said the glass was just chilling in the ice. Mind you... GLASS was in the ice BIN. #1 NO NO of bartending... NO GLASS EVER IN THE ICE!! When the martini came up clear as water and half full, i stated that was a pretty lame martini at 1/2 full and was there olive juice in it for an extra dirty martini?? He, the bartender, stated "YES". Wonder if he even knew there is supposed to be 1/4 oz dry vermouth in a martini. He stated there was the 2 ounces of vodka. I then stated, "Keep the drink, we will order our beverages elsewhere." This Applebee's is awful. STRIKE two and we aren't ever coming back to see if there is a STRIKE 3. TERRIBLE. We come from South FL where we are frequent flyers of Applebee's. This was the worse Applebee's we have ever been in. Someone from corporate needs to step in and train the people working there and how to move a little faster than a snail's pace. I spent 20 years working in restaurants and bars, this was, by far, an absolutly horrible experience. We spent $70 at Texas Roadhouse and ordered the same drinks. Glad Applebee's - Lake City, FL is doing so well, they can afford this loss (sarcasm)!

This store really doesn't understand customer service. Called manager back twice and even emailed them as to a reply yet nothing was resolved!

Stopped on our way to Lake Placid for Christmas. Service was courteous, fast and the food was good. We didn't have to wait even though it was crowded. We had boneless wings and chicken quesadillas. Very good. We will certainly stop here again.

If there was an option for zero stars, I would put it down for this "restaurant". Many only was the service bad, with waiters complaining to their customers. But their food lacked flavor. Drinks are overpriced. No silverware was given until 15 minutes after food was served. That way we got to stare nicely at our meal before we were able to eat it. But in no way did we enjoy.
(1)Steven H.
Not the best food. They recently remodeled it. It's pretty nice now and their service is hit and miss. I will go back because it's the only sit down restaurant open late

DESERVES ZERO (0) starts. Unfortunately it wasn't an option. Sunday afternoon restaurant no waiting time but server never came to offer drinks or introduce himself/herself. We had to walk out since they seems to not need business.

We had a great meal here. The service was good and the food came out quickly. I would come again. I got the chicken and Quinoa and my husband got the grilled salmon.
